LTE: More Facts Needed About Marijuana

Winona Daily News

Regarding Stan Gierhan's letter that Marinol is available for medical marijuana consumers: Marinol is not marijuana. Marinol only consists of the psychoactive property tetrahydrocannabinol delta 9.

The anti-convulsant property, cannabidiol (CBD), is not part of Marinol, therefore inferior to natural state marijuana. If one's epilepsy is cardiologically related, then THC is effective for stabilizing heart rate. If one's epilepsy is brain-related, then CBD is 90 percent effective for blocking seizure disorder.

Since childhood, I have been victimized by our medical profession in respect to unauthorized chemical and surgical experimentation, which only made my epilepsy worse, not better. It was a major relief to discover marijuana so effective for blocking convulsive disorder.

A joint in front of me is better than a unauthorized lobotomy.
